About

Towa Bird marries rock and roll with personal growth in her smashing debut single “Wild Heart” released via Interscope Records last month. Born in Hong-Kong and raised in both Thailand and London, the half-English, half-Filipino artist first started in music strumming on the guitar along to her father’s favorite bands like The Who and The Kinks.

Although this may be the start of Bird’s journey as a recording artist, she has been posting unique covers on YouTube and Instagram and has been co-writing and producing with other artists for a while. She earned the favor of artists like WILLOW and Tyler, The Creator with her videos soloing over popular hip-hop and R&B songs. With hundreds of thousands of subscribers on YouTube and near one million followers on TikTok, Towa Bird has already established herself as both a talented musician and a powerful vocalist.

This latest record was produced by Thomas Powers of the New Zealand band The Naked And Famous. Powers has been the main collaborator on the rest of Bird’s exciting upcoming project. “The song is about personal growth within my romantic relationships and addresses my past self and actions I’ve taken […] It illustrates the person that I once was and the person I’ve grown into not nearly perfect, but definitely not as much of an asshole. With a whimsical music video to complement it, “Wild Heart” speaks on identity, queerness, and allowing yourself to be open to new possibilities.
