NYC-based TONY OR TONY have made a quick name for themselves on the indie-punk scene, earning early praise from the likes of Dazed, BBC6, & Paper Magazine - after collecting buzzy NY venues like trading cards - including Elsewhere, Mercury Lounge, Racket & Baby's All Right, opening for acts like Joy Again, Model/Actriz, Sitcom & Blaketheman1000…
Their live shows feature “over-the-top production and raucous (energy)” that’s caught the attention of NYC's "it" crowd, most recently with their single release event for "mothbulb" @ Elsewhere in February, as tipped by Paper Mag in their "Fresh Pressed" column.
For fans of a blend between The Prodigy, MGMT, and A. G. Cook, the group draw inspiration from a range of artists, including Tiny Leg, DJ Klub Foot, The Five Discs, Chris & Cosey, Neubauten, and Beethoven (deep cuts).
With their debut album slated for release this year, the two lead-up singles thus far have continued to grow their total audience & garner industry attention, with support from Spotify editorial via Indie Sleaze, Fresh Finds Indie, Hyperpop, and more. The next single, “new toy,” hits stores 3/21 🪀
