About
MARIS is a 23-year-old from Montana making proper east coast pop music in Los Angeles. Sam and Danny of BEST FRIENDS. & LA-based narrative marketing agency Black Box are supporting the project, who made their official debut last fall.
She didn’t come out of nowhere, though. As a teenager, MARIS performed at the American Music Awards for a chance to compete on American Idol, and was the runner-up for Postmodern Jukebox Search — later touring with the group.
This Friday (6/30), the re-introduction of this fully-formed iteration of MARIS culminates with the release of her debut EP Gravity — complete with a short film premiering that afternoon on YouTube & followed by an afterparty on YouTube Premium that will be streamed live from YouTube Space LA.
For fans of Christine and the Queens, CRJ & Mimi Webb — MARIS has been featured on Spotify playlists Fresh Finds, Ny Pop, and recently made her debut New Music Friday appearance with “Crashland” in March.
