About

Inglewood-based singer, songwriter, and producer LUCIUS ARTHUR released his first single off of his newest project “The Dream Hotel EP” last night. Splitting his time between San Diego and London while growing up, the performer was exposed to the genres of American R&B, UK pop, and electronica. Acts like The Prodigy, Oasis, Bombay Bicycle Club, and Kasabian heavily influenced him. After cutting his teeth as a musician by writing songs and performing throughout middle school, LUCIUS moved to London after high school to pursue a career in music.

Now working in Inglewood, LUCIUS has flexed his muscles both writing and producing for hip-hop artists around Los Angeles. While his debut album “A Violent Dichotomy” focuses on the strain between the digital and natural world people spend their time in, his newest project highlights the importance of embracing the beauty in your inner flaws. Much of the whole EP – as well as his titular single “The Dream Hotel” – fuses the songwriting styles of Radiohead and The Smashing Pumpkins with the sonic landscapes of artists like Aphex Twin, Sega Bodega, and Nosaj Thing.

Keep an eye out as LUCIUS will be playing Summerfest in Milwuakee on June 30th with lovelytheband and Beach Weather. LUCIUS has seen support on playlists like antipop, feedBack & more. Check out the San Diego native below.
