About

When India Shore was in need of a guitarist for an audition tape at Berklee College of Music, Claire Altendahl happily offered to help. Since then, the duo have been collaborating under the name Boyish. The Brooklyn/Los Angeles-based indie rock band keeps simplistic songwriting at the core of their projects, which hone in on young love and relationships.

When Shore and Altendahl first started releasing music in 2018, their band was named “The Blue,” with their first project “Carnation” getting nominated for Alt-Country Album of the Year at the Independent Music Awards. Post-2020 saw them drop their second project “Garden Spider” with their current moniker and an evolved grasp on angst channeled through raw rock.

The musicians started making their most recent EP, including their newest single “Girls Are Mean,” while supporting spill tab on tour. Describing the EP as “heavy, raw, and alive,” Boyish continues to speak on themes of uncertainty, fear of vulnerability, and heartbreak on this new project.

The duo has seen support on playlists like Sad Indie, sad girl starter pack, undercurrents & more. Learn more about Boyish below.
