Raised in Acton, London, DJ and producer p-rallel has been in the game since he was a teenager. Son of a multi-genre DJ, p-rallel was exposed to soulful house, reggae, and groove at a young age. He became associated with Skepta’s crew after DJing their party and has since gone on to soundtrack live shows for acts like Lava La Rue and slowthai and operate boards for Rejjie Snow and Playboi Carti. p-rallel explains how beneficial it was to tour with such talented musicians. “It’s like seeing the world through their eyes and seeing everything that’s needed to put together a big show […] and it prepares me for when it’s my go.”

As a member of the Elevation/Meditation collective, p-rallel takes great care to only work with people he can form a strong connection with. Avoiding the forceful and sometimes inauthentic collaborations proposed to artists via labels, p-rallel has created tracks that are genuine reflections of his – and his collaborators – experiences. Growing up in West London heavily influenced his sound. The producer used to work with artists out of his bedroom-turned-studio, which largely shaped him as an artist.

One of his biggest inspirations is Michael Jackson, which mirrors p-rallel’s mission to become more than a DJ and artist, but an entertainer who leaves their own legacy in the industry. The artist’s most recent EP “Forward” encapsulates the good vibes anyone hopes to have at the club with upbeat rhythms and infectious melodies, propelled even further with excellent features on each track from Rachel Chinouriri to Fredwave.
