About
Peter Cat Recording Co. is the everchanging Delhi-based band that’s been gaining steady momentum since they were founded in 2009.
Its inception took place in ‘08 when frontman Suryakant Sawhney had a spiritual experience in San Francisco, leading him to believe he should seriously consider a career in music. He then decided to start the band along with his roommate Jeff Abplanalp, who proceeded to learn the bass guitar in order to be a part of it all. PCRC has since evolved into a quintet that has experimented with a plethora of genres, most notably incorporating elements of jazz & ambient electronics.
Fast-forward to 2018, when they signed with Parisian label Panache and were able to release their work of art ‘Portrait of a Time: 2010-2016’ to critical acclaim. PCPR followed up the album with their hit Memory Box which found its way onto HBO’s Emmy-nominated series Hacks, and also had their own episode on the Netflix show The Creative Indians.
With various tour plans previously busted due to COVID, they hope to hit the road again asap. Until then, stream all of their music here.
