About

Growing up in Houston, Josh Mehling describes his self-coined “loner era” - a time where friends were minimal but a passion for music and a yearning for how to make it began to grow. Mehling ultimately credits Ableton Live tutorials, three best friends becoming indie pop supergroup Shelly (Clairo, Claud, Noa Frances Getzug), and pandemic boredom for what pushed him to drop his debut solo track Cake as JDM Global.

JDM Global’s debut EP Go Easy follows a number of indie-pop successes for Mehling. With production credits on Claud’s Super Monster and Shelly’s viral track “Steeeam”, Go Easy is a culmination of Mehling’s signature woozy-pop sound and soft psychedelic visuals.

The EP has seen social and publicity support from Pigeons & Planes, Coup De Main, and grown the JDM Global monthly Spotify listeners to almost 50k+.

The universe had been trying to shove away music for a long time, but it just kept finding a way back into my life.” - Josh Mehling
