About

“I’m just some girl from Tennessee who loves rock ‘n roll.”

Cecilia Castleman tackled her first interview ever on Zane Lowe’s Apple Music 1 with the same quiet confidence that her songwriting evokes. Both of Cecilia’s singles, “Lonely Nights” and “It’s Alright”, cut straight through her humility as she brands herself “just some girl from Tennessee” - truthfully, she’s a rising folk powerhouse who’s already worked with the likes of Daniel Tashian (Kacey Musgraves), Don Was (The Rolling Stones, Bonnie Raitt), Benmont Tench (Stevie Knicks, Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash), and Abe Laboriel Jr. (Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton).

Castleman is a cutting yet courteous storyteller - a recipe for indie folk magic that bodes well for the Glassnote Records roster. Fans can expect her debut record, recorded at Henson Studios and produced by Don Was, out next year.

Both “Lonely Nights” and “It’s Alright” have seen editorial placements from Spotify’s Fresh Folk and Grade A playlists.

Live

Fresh off opening slots for Sheryl Crow and Melissa Etheridge this past summer, you can catch Cecilia playing Lightning 100’s Live on the Green in Nashville, TN early September.
