Joy Oladokun’s career has blossomed despite the tumultuous past year or so. The artist has done everything from being a recipient of YouTube’s Black Creator fund, to having songs placed on Grey’s Anatomy, to now more recently garnering a major-label record deal.

The self-proclaimed sensitive stoner is the daughter of Nigerian immigrants and grew up in Arizona surrounded by her father’s extensive record collection. Now based in Nashville, Vogue’s #1 LGBTQ artist to watch continues her tear with her most recent album “in defense of my own happiness” which you can stream here.
